Title: Speckled;
Media Used: Ink;
Date Created: February 2018;
Artist Statement: This piece was created in attempt to capture the rough texture of a crocodile, which i achieved using ink to create stippling within the work, as i felt I'd be able to most accurately depict the immense details the crocodile possessed.
Procedure:
1) The drawing was sketched in an HB pencil using about two or three reference photos as a guide to assist me in accurately developing the body of the animal
2) Once the sketch was completed, I used inking pens of various sizes (0.1mm-0.5) to stipple the majority of the artwork.
3) I worked in layers to assure that I'd be able to reach the amount of depth i initially wanted to achieve in the piece; The first layer was very light, as it was mostly meant to serve as the building block for the mid tones within the drawing, which also helped define the initial shape of the crocodile.
4) A second, and slightly darker, layer of ink was then applied to carve out its scaly skin texture in addition to the various shapes of teeth it had.
5) Next, I repeatedly stippled over part of the sections that were meant to serve as a basis for my mid-tones to define them as such.
6) Then, I went over the areas that were meant to be darkest in value multiple times in order to create shadows.
7) Finally, I redefined all the shapes that needed to be emphasized in the drawing an used the same layering technique to stipple the rest of the artwork and used short lines to create the illusion of grass.

Title: Stragglers;
Media Used: Ink;
Date Created: September 2017
Artist Statement: This artwork was a prompt given by my art teacher in which we had a limited amount of time to sketch in pencil before using ink to finalize the drawing. The shoes in the piece were those of my classmates and myself that we organized into a pleasing composition and were then instructed to draw, following the conditions mentioned earlier.

Title: Hushed
Media Used: Pastels, Ebony Pencil, Acrylic Paint
Date Created: October 2017
Artist Statement: The subjects in this piece were created using origami. I chose to create these animals, in particular, because they are mostly known for being quiet, which accurately represents myself. The colored portion of the background was painted using acrylic paint and the rest of the piece was created using white and gray pastels, in addition to an ebony pencil to assist in creating shadows.

Title: Echo;
Media Used: Water Soluble Graphite and a Gray Watercolor Pencil;
Date Created: January 2018;
Artist Statement: This drawing was created in attempt to capture two point perspective in everyday structures. I particularly chose to depict this building because I noticed that it had very notable shadows that were pleasing to the eye, but I initially didn't know how I would emphasize them in the drawing. I finally decided on doing the piece in black and white using watercolor pencils and water soluble graphite which ,I believe, helped me truly capture the building's varying values.

Title: Everybody In?;
Media Used: Clay and Ceramic Paints;
Date Created: May 2018;
Artist Statement: The inspiration for this sculpture came from a song that I used to listen to throughout middle school. In the song there was frequent mention of a windmill, which is why I chose to sculpt one. A technique for creating pinch pots was used in order to allow the sculpture to have a hollow center, making it possible for a hole to be cut out and, in turn, for the piece to be transformed into a speaker. I chose to paint the windmill a muted shade of red because they band that sung the song would frequently use the color red in their music videos and I chose to paint the rest of the sculpture gray to emphasize the red and neutralize the artwork, overall.
